In the lovely Champagne region of France, just 31/2 hours drive from the port of Calais, lie's the truly beautiful lagune Lassi. The lake nestles in a quiet, rural setting where it is not unusual to hear only the sound of a distant tractor whilst relaxing behind a set of carp rods. The lake is truly unique in that no carp under 30lbs (13.6kg) have ever been stocked and therefore most runs should be a 30+. Limited test fishing in 2003 produced carp to over 50lb.

This family run fishery is managed by a highly respected carp angler. Lassi is approx 6 acres. The water was acquired in early 2002 and a year's hard work has gone into the fishery to ensure that it meets every demand of the English carp angler

The lake has no crayfish or poisson chat. The water is usually slightly coloured and the depth averages 12' 00'' in early season dropping to about 10' 00'' in late summer. The lake bed is firm, sandy gravel, with a few interesting features. There are one or two small weed beds present but these cause no problem to the angler.

Despite these 'carrieres' (the french name for sand and gravel lakes) being relatively young, Lassi is completely tree lined and in 2002 it was necessary to allow fishing for the first time ever! At each side of the lake there are double-swims. There also 4 single swims, alongside each other, within the orchard. With the amount of anglers limited to a maximum of five, this offers one long bank completely overgrown with no swims. Less than 5 minutes drive from the lake is a relatively large town where you can find a large variety of shops and fuel stations etc.

Lagune Lassi lies in a conservation area of no electricity or mains water. So, although we offer a proper toilet and shower, you will need to take your own fresh water (or boil the lake water!).

The lakes are fully-fenced with lockable double-gates at the end. This ensures safe parking and a secure environment in which to relax and pursue the capture of some large carp.
